DESCRIPTION

The function hairs.4 allows cross hairs to be positioned over each point on a screen plot, with the coordinates shown in data, window or annotation units. The function is currently only available with PC console graphics. Use the user function xhairs.4 if running on an X windows display.

Commands:

q, ^D, ^C, ^\e, ^Z, <return> quit

c	step through available cursors.
C	step through available colors.
d	toggle between user, window and annotation coordinates.
f	toggle between 8- and 16-pixel fonts.
m	toggle between scan and roam motion modes.

Using the alt, shift or control keys with one of the motion keys multiplies the motion as indicated in the above table.

Scan mode moves the cursor from point to point. Roam mode moves the cursor directionally.

User coordinates are based on the axis ranges.

Window coordinates are in C-PLOT centimeters, with the origin located in the lower-left corner of the landscape (unturned) or portrait (turned) page window. These are the same units used to define the corner of the plot window with the wi command.

Annotation coordinates also are in C-PLOT centimeters, but are measured from the top-left corner of the plot window. These are the same units that define the annotation position with the pn or zn commands.
