zx

DESCRIPTION

Closing the filter tells the filter process that the current plot is finished. If the filter is associated with a printer, zx will send the current plot to the printer. You generally use zx to close a filter after using zw to keep it open.

On video terminals that have separate text and graphics modes, zx is the recommended command for switching from text to graphics in order to view an existing plot. Typing a second <return> switches the screen back to text mode.

The synchronized close command zs works like zx but makes sure the filter has flushed all of its output before control returns to the plot program. The zs command should be used instead of zx if the text and/or graphics are getting garbled.
